Hackathon Challenge Statement

Accessibility “Your challenge is to create a user-friendly solution that will create a more inclusive environment where individuals can get equal access to resources and opportunities.”

Persona

After brainstorming around the challenge statement and potential solutions, I found my own experience to be of great use for the projected persona. As a student with experience with accessibility requirement's on an academic level, I relayed my experience with my university's Academic Accommodations site, typically used to create assignment requests for my team members, and found a potential synergy.

The design

Before I designed a wireframe, I had to decide the type of flow best for the user/student persona. I wanted the journey from sign-in to usage to be as seamless as possible, hence why I made the decision to have the platform performs as an internal B2B system, much like the LMS’s TMU has employed for student learning.

Final Thoughts As my first hackathon and opportunity to navigate Figma, I thoroughly enjoyed testing my abilities in prototyping. Especially considering the time constraint. I found Adobe XD and my diverse knowledge of the creative platform to aid me greatly when navigating and performing efficiently on a newfound sight within a short 10 hours.

Challenges

One of the challenges I faced in my first hackathon was my first-time use of Figma within a short 24 hours; for my first time navigating this program, I found the functions to be similar to Adobe XD and employed my previous creative solutions toward exploring ways to leverage its elements. Additionally, I had to find ways of solving this problem faster and more efficiently while showcasing the most prominent features that would serve this case best.
